Beginning orthodontic treatment between the ages of 11 and 13 is a rite of passage for most teenagers. As teens grow into adulthood, many changes occur which makes it the optimal time to start braces. Most of the baby teeth have been lost and the permanent teeth have grown in, allowing orthodontists to guide them into a beautiful smile.
At Lampros & Reopelle Orthodontics, we offer a wide variety of braces types and styles for you to choose from so you can determine which option best fits your lifestyle.
Traditional Metal Braces
Metal braces have been the orthodontic cornerstone for many decades and are the most commonly used today. Advancements in materials technology have made metal braces smaller, lighter and more comfortable than ever. You can look forward to customizing your look with colored elastic ties each time you visit.
Ceramic (Clear) Braces
Clear braces are made of a ceramic material that blends with your natural tooth color. They work the same as metal braces, but are more discreet and esthetic. Clear brackets are suitable in most orthodontic cases. After your initial evaluation, we will determine if clear brackets are right for you.
Invisalign® offers a clear, wireless alternative to getting the smile you have always wanted. Invisalign® clear aligners are comfortable, removable and virtually invisible. You can take them out for special occasions such as yearbook pictures or school dances, and you can maintain great oral health by being able to brush and floss normally. To get optimal results, you will need to diligently wear the Invisalign® aligners at least 22 hours a day.
We utilize several systems of braces (Incognito™ Hidden Braces and Harmony® lingual braces) that are made to adhere to the back-side (lingual) of your teeth, hidden from view. These braces are a great option for patients who want a truly subtle straightening option. State-of-the-art digital technology is used to create customized brackets and wires to deliver comfortable and effective results.
